American guitarist, songwriter, producer and all-around music enthusiast Jared Hara offers up an engaging but intense metal sound that he aims to make relatable to all music lovers.
Jared’s story is proof of the power of music, as he explains: “Music has been more than just a love or passion for me – it’s an incredible outlet. I discovered it at age 11 after losing my eyesight, and it has been my anchor ever since.”
And on the music he writes, Jared told us: “I would describe my sound as a reflection of whatever I’m feeling in the moment. Whether it’s happiness, sadness, love, or intense, high-energy emotions, I aim to channel those feelings into the music I create. Over the years, I’ve been part of touring bands, but after getting married and becoming a father, I’ve decided to focus more on myself as an artist.”

Jared sent us his single Off With Their Heads, which was released in December. It opens up with a cool riff that bursts into life with big screams of the song title. Chugging guitars support engaging vocals through a building verse, before screamed vocals and a darting lick drop into a singalong chorus. The chorus gives way to a funky little solo that drops into a heavy verse and another chorus.
On the track, Jared said: “This track is a labor of love, written and recorded with my amazing brothers, Cory and David. If you’re a fan of Slipknot, Taylor Swift, and everything in between, you’re going to love this. Constant Tragedy is an aggressive and emotional journey into the vulnerable and negative thoughts that sometimes consume our minds. In those dark times, it can feel nearly impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and all you want is for those self-defeating thoughts to get out of your head.” Check it out in the video here:
Off With Their Heads was the eighth in a series of eleven singles released in 2024, most of which see him collaborate with fellow solo artist Corey Kipps. Those singles include the intense Missiles Like Candles and I’m The One You Need, and a personal favourite in the instrumental track Ephemeral Whisperings In The Cosmic Void. Not only does it have an awesome song title, it opens up with wild guitars that drop into a filthy cosmic bassline that continues under a funky lick. Check it out in the video below.

Jared’s music is influenced by a wide range of musical styles. As he explains: “My influences are diverse. I first fell in love with the guitar by studying virtuosos like Steve Vai and Herman Li of DragonForce. However, I’ve always been drawn to the full-band experience and the art of songwriting. From rock and heavy metal to pop, I embrace it all. Ultimately, my inspiration comes from life itself – the highs, the lows, and everything in between.”
