Our ongoing discovery of new music through discovery platform Groover leads us to interview bands from all over the world. However, some don't respond to our requests, so we do regular round-ups of new bands that have submitted tracks to us.
Introducing: INVISIBLE KIDS
Making music in the Ukraine, with the ongoing conflict started by Russia, is one of the most severe challenges we can imagine. But Ukrainian solo artist INVISIBLE KIDS is delivering great new music while providing critical support to the Ukrainian armed forces. In doing so, he offers up a raw and grungey metal sound that's big on experimentation, and he describes as "atmosphere, concept, and groove."
Introducing: Imagica
Ukrainian/Portuguese duo IMAGICA have honed a fascinating sound that refuses to be constrained to specific styles or genres. IMAGICA is as much a band as it is an art, filmmaking and storytelling project with a strong visual base that they intriguingly describe as "surrealistic cinematic arena dance metal."
Introducing: Death Pill
Ukrainian trio Death Pill have delivered a kick-ass album of feisty hardcore punk that harnesses the stance and attitude of the Riot Grrrl movement. And of course, the album's release is more pertinent in light of being completed just before the atrocity of the Russian invasion last year.
Introducing: Sinoptik
There aren't too many bands that can claim to have been crowned "the world's best new band" but that's the case for Sinoptik, who can now also add the honour of being the first Ukrainian band to feature on GigRadar.
Introducing: Amaria
We love finding great new music from all over the world, so the discovery of Ukrainian rock solo artist Amaria has gotten us really excited. The Kiev-based singer has honed a gothic-tinged pop-rock sound that she describes to us as "unframed, powerful and melodic."
Discover This: Chasing Embers
Having harnessed the influences of old school rock and metal with the power of nu-metal and added their own unique atmosphere on top, Ukrainian band Chasing Embers have conjured up an intriguing, dark metal sound.
