Your guide to new rock, metal and punk bands worldwide
Having grown up in Herefordshire, it’s not too often I discover a new band that hails from the same rural location. However, the brilliantly named Your Future Is Metal is one such band, which started out back in 2011 but gradually evolved through to the current project that began in 2020.
London duo The Survival Code offer up a deliciously riff-heavy and catchy rock sound that they describe as “powerful, melodious and energetic.” And the band has plenty of content to treat your ears to, as they trickle their new album out with one song released every month of 2023.
Exciting London newcomers Tether. offer up a modern spin on post-hardcore with a furiously feisty and intense but engaging sound that they describe as “energetic, cathartic and inspirational.”
London alternative metal band Elyn is on a mission to help people struggling with their mental health with a focus on a stoic philosophy and a captivating sound that they describe as “motivating, powerful and deep.”
London-based punk newcomers Television Screams have honed a riotous sound that they describe as “spooky, sexy and fun.”
Exciting new East London band Le Rox offer up a loud, brash and angsty offering of old-school punk that’s big on anger and emotions in what they describe as “sad girl sounds.”

“Unfiltered, Primal, Invigorating.” These are the words that new London band After Smoke Clears use to summarise their sound, swiftly followed by “relentless, energising and unapologetic.” So you’d be right in thinking they offer up something pretty damn heavy.
London newcomers Break Fate have honed a warm and engaging sound that effortlessly jumps between moments of mellow melancholy and hard-hitting rock.
It’s not too often we feature a band before they have any music available to play you – in fact, we think this could be a first. But, given the sell that new London rap-rockers Antlerz gave us, we felt this one was worthwhile.
