GigRadio Episode 11: The Immerse-ive One

The GigRadar podcast GigRadio is back with a bang to discuss the best new rock and metal from around the world! It’s been 10 months since our last episode but we’ve been keen to revamp the podcast for a while, and we finally got the opportunity to do so.

We’re increasingly seeing bands using electronic elements to redefine what we know as metal with new sounds and unconventional approaches. But Irish band Neon Empire are taking that crossover to even higher levels with an “ambitious, adventurous and rule-breaking” electro metalcore sound.

Introducing: After Silence

After more than four years of running GigRadar, we’ve finally found our first Mexican metal band in Mexico City-based metalcore quartet After Silence. And it’s been well worth the wait as, probably a little bit offensively, the band reveal that “people are shocked when they realise that we are Mexican.”

New Band of the Week: Creak

Let us transport you to a dark place fuelled by chaos and desperation with Newcastle quartet Creak. The band’s savage sound fuses groove metal, nu-metal and post-hardcore intensity with moments of eerie atmosphere and distortion.

Introducing: Lonelyouth

Nashville newcomers Lonelyouth offer up an exciting, diverse sound that sits somewhere between nu-metal, metalcore and melodic rock. They’ve honed a sound that offers plenty of aggression and its fair share of groove, with booming guitar riffs fused with powerful vocals engaging melodies.

Introducing: Census

Arkansas’ Census are a metal band that falls outside the scope of what you might typically expect from a metal band. They’ve honed an intriguing sound that fuses metal elements with delicious yet powerful vocals, modern metalcore instrumentals, synth fusions, and emotionally-driven lyrics.
