“You want to have fun? This ain’t gonna happen.” That’s a promise from Austrian deathcore meets progressive metal collective Nightmare Constellation, who’ve concocted a brutal, dark and ominous sound that they describe as “ruminative, gloomy and unusual.”

Introducing: Flowers Of Hades

New Zealand newcomers Flowers Of Hades are making quite the impression with a crushing djenty metalcore meets deathcore sound packed with crushing seven-string riffs, vicious vocals and booming breakdowns.

New Band of the Week: Virgin Witch

Essex deathcore/death metal newcomers Virgin Witch have brewed up a cauldron of vicious vocals, rampaging riffs and brutal breakdowns in a ferocious sound they describe as “energetic, extreme and dynamic.”

Introducing: Bloodbather

With a name like Bloodbather, you’d be right to expect something pretty intense. And the Broward County, Florida, collective do not disappoint, with a savage concoction of chugging riffs and vicious vocals in a metallic hardcore meets deathcore sound they describe as “visceral, angry and powerful.”

As someone going through a significant grief process, I can testify that seriously soul-destroyingly heavy music can often be just the tonic. Birmingham trio Grief Ritual offer that in abundance with a fusion of death and black metal, hardcore and metalcore that they describe as “miserable, unrelenting and crushing.” Perfect.
