Your guide to new rock, metal and punk bands worldwide
Our latest batch of new music from bands using music discovery platform Groover sees us kick off 2026 with tracks from eight new bands. We begin the new year with a fusion of rock, metal, nu-metal, punk and rap metal by bands from Germany, Switzerland, the UK and the US.
Parisian collective Ressentiment Superlibre Masculin Hardcore fuse grindcore, rap, metal and industrial music “in an incoherent fashion” in a sound they summarise as “Grindcore, Rap, GRAPE!”
Swindon band Modern Evils have crafted a raw alternative rock meets post-hardcore sound built on a hip-hop core, which they describe as a “saucy emotional rollercoaster.”
Kent and Essex-based band Code: Marla started out as a dubstep project but they’re increasingly heading down a path towards nu-metal with a thrilling sound they describe as “high energy vibes.”
French hardcore newcomers The Dislockers pack a bone-crushingly heavy punch with an intoxicating sound that fuses metal, hardcore and hip-hop.
British rap metal newcomers Defaced offer up an intriguing sound that toes the line between nu-metal and metalcore and they describe as “dark, aggressive and intense.”
French rapcore meets neo metal is a music genre we’re fairly sure you’ve not heard too much of. But if Waking The Sleeping Bear are anything to go by, it’s something we all need a little bit more of in our lives.
Estonian rap metal is a phrase that we’re 99.9% certain you’ll never have heard/read about before. But it’s alive and kicking with exciting quintet Everfall, who fuse elements of rock and metal with trap, hip-hop and trumpet solos.
It’s not too often we feature a band before they have any music available to play you – in fact, we think this could be a first. But, given the sell that new London rap-rockers Antlerz gave us, we felt this one was worthwhile.
