Making music in the Ukraine, with the ongoing conflict started by Russia, is one of the most severe challenges we can imagine. But Ukrainian solo artist INVISIBLE KIDS is delivering great new music while providing critical support to the Ukrainian armed forces. In doing so, he offers up a raw and grungey metal sound that's big on experimentation, and he describes as "atmosphere, concept, and groove."
Ukrainian trio Death Pill have delivered a kick-ass album of feisty hardcore punk that harnesses the stance and attitude of the Riot Grrrl movement. And of course, the album's release is more pertinent in light of being completed just before the atrocity of the Russian invasion last year.
There aren't too many bands that can claim to have been crowned "the world's best new band" but that's the case for Sinoptik, who can now also add the honour of being the first Ukrainian band to feature on GigRadar.
