Introducing: Bloodstained Halo

Finnish band Bloodstained Halo blend the ferocity of metalcore, the melody of melodeath and the rawness of nu-metal in a powerful sound they describe as “aggressive, melodic and groovy.”

The Lahti quartet came together through the infamous Finnish music forum Muusikoiden. It started with vocalist and guitarist Lumi Eade chatting with guitarist Toni Tiainen, before onboarding bassist Jarkko Hämäläinen and drummer and backing vocalist Tuomas Mikkonen to create “a passionate and competent group of real metal enjoyers.” And the newly formed lineup, which was only completed in July, aims to bring a unique raw flavour to the modern metal scene.

On the sound they’ve crafted, Toni told us: “I think our music will resonate a lot with listeners of bands like Linkin Park, Bring Me The Horizon, Sylosis and Architects. Our sound is a mix of modern and old school metalcore, though every member contributes their own influence, ranging from death to nu-metal.”

Our first taste of this is Bloodstained Halo’s debut single Monster, which was released last week. It opens up with a building guitar riff that bursts into life alongside Lumi’s intense vocals. That drops into chugging guitars and vocals that flow into a bi, which ends with high-pitched guitars before thick slabs of stabbing guitars and screamed vocals alongside a meandering little guitar lick. The pace slows with repeating guitar notes, which continue under clean vocals and building guitars that flow into a big singalong chorus. A sweeping guitar solo comes in alongside vicious cries to bring the track to a powerful conclusion.

On the track, Toni said: “We are very excited to have our first track out there! Having the first single out is a huge milestone for the band. The reception of Monster has been great, and we can’t wait to release more music. If you haven’t heard it yet, you are in for a treat.”

The Bloodstained Halo sound is influenced by the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, Architects, Meshuggah, Stam1na, Sepultura, Aborted, Sylosis and Decapitated.

And on what inspires them to write music, Lumi explained: “Pain usually. And the struggles in life we all of through. A lot of my lyrics also touch on mental health and unfairness and/or injustice in our society.”

There’s plenty more to come from Bloodstained Halo, who plan to follow up their debut single with their debut EP next Spring. Beyond that, they’re already hard at work on the pre-production for a debut album next year, along with a mass of gigs in Finland. The band also hopes to play beyond Finland next year, and is looking for assistance from fellow metal bands, promoters and/or labels to help them play gigs in the Baltics, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and potentially the UK between October and November 2026.

And Toni added: “Everything we have done or released we have done completely by ourselves. Don’t be afraid to record your own songs or music videos. You don’t necessarily need expensive gear or a professional studio to record or produce your music. Anyone can record a song or a whole album on a cheap audio interface if you do a bit of research.”
