Blending classic heavy metal with influences of grunge and progressive rock, Nottingham's Cottonmouth are very much onto a winning formula. The quartet have honed an engaging sound that they describe as "thunderous metal riffage," which we love.
If a band name could aptly summarise the current events in the world then that would surely be Sadness & Complete Disappointment.
Teenage sibling trio Speed of Light have honed a garage rock sound laced with punky undertones that's probably going to take you by surprise in its ferocity. In fact, the Santa Monica, California, band's dirty, riff-filled rock meets grunge meets desert rock sound is absolutely filthy as hell.
Leeds trio Kath & The Kicks have honed an intriguing sound that packs the power of alternative and grunge. Led by delicious, engaging vocals and supported by heavy riffs, there's also a more melodic edge to the band that's sure to have you hooked.
We've featured a couple of 'Internet bands' in the past, but Beyond The Badlands is definitely one of the most interesting. The band was founded in January by guitarist and songwriter Cuda Smith, who's currently stationed in Germany and spends six months of the year deployed with the military which leaves him another six months to hone his brand of southern rock.

Fareham band Web were introduced to us as "Portsmouth's latest and most aggressive post-punk band," which had us all ears. The quartet have honed an intriguing sound that fuses a little bit of everything from experimental post-punk to grunge and heavy noise rock as they endeavour to work on "more interesting song structures."
London band Empty Friend's approach of "doing things the old way, the hard way," has fuelled a raw, grungey hard rock sound dominated by big melodic vocals and heavy riffing.
